  Machinima 2013

Gina Darling has been an E3 booth babe for 3 years, and is also a Machinima Respawn Director. At E3 2013 Gina had the opportunity to enjoy the show as an atendee shooting video for her own channel and interviewing other booth babes. We were happy to have the opportunity to catch up with her to talk about her experience as a model and a gamer!

Q. Tell us a little about yourself - where did you grow up and how would you describe yourself?

I grew up in Northern California. San Jose, Bay areaaaa!

Q. How would you describe yourself growing up?

I was a tom boy and was pretty quiet. I was definitely an ugly duckling that got picked on by the popular girls. I didn't do sports, I stayed inside and played games.

Q. Did you always want to be a model? How did you first get into modelling?

I wanted to be a model since I was 4 years old. When I was 17, I was the youngest to place in the royal court for an international pageant, thus boosting my modeling career.

Q. What do you enjoy most about modeling?

I enjoy the fact that I can be whatever character I want when I'm at a shoot.

Q. What type of work do you do for machinima? What can you tell us about your Youtube channel?

I do some game play videos and sometimes I'm in the Machinima office doing streams with them. I recently did a Skyrim stream with them and when Black Ops 2 dropped, we did a 24hr live stream race to Max Prestige. I played for 18 hours straight Live!

Q. How many years have you been an E3 model?

I've done a total of four E3's and I've represented GameCrush, Future US, Ubisoft, and Machinima. This year was a more relaxed year for me. I got to do whatever I wanted on the show floor and got to see everything I wanted to see! It was also an exciting year because the next gen consoles were being announced!

Q. This year, since you were able to see many things at e3 on your own agenda, what were your favorite games/booths/swag this year for you?

My most important item in my agenda was going over to Ubisoft to visit my friends working on Splinter Cell Blacklist. I'm currently looking forward to that, Watch Dogs, and probably Call of Duty Ghosts. I was hoping we'd see more on the new Metal Gear but they've been keeping it under wraps!

Q. What is your favorite part of working at E3

I get to see all the new games and I get to play them too!

Q. What is your least favorite part of working at E3?

It's usually the guys with really bad hygiene or BO that ruin the day for me. They ask to take a picture with me, put their arms around me, and I have to hold my breath :(

Q. Was E3 an event you knew about or followed prior to your modelling career. Did you actively pursue work at the conference?

Yes. It's a scene that I grew up in and am very passionate in!

Q. What were the highlights of the show for you this year?

Seeing all my friends in the industry is fun. I always love to stop by the Machinima booth to harass people I know there too. I absolutely love my friends over at Ubisoft, too. I've made amazing friends in this industry and seeing them congregated in one place makes my face happy.
